I’ve tried Effoi’s veggie combo, vegan tibs, and ful. All great, but the vegan tibs and veggie combo are my favorites. The vegan tibs is especially impressive as they use soy chunks instead of mushrooms as the beef substitute, which I haven’t come across often in the DMV (I’ve really only seen it done this way in Ethiopia). It is so so good. Definitely a must try for both meat-eaters and non-meat-eaters. You won’t be let down. The service was also amazing. My waitress Ella was so kind and really made my experience that much better. Bonus: they also serve coffee with the full traditional Ethiop

Really loved the ambiance in here. They keep it nice and cozy and you can tell the staff really care about the food and culture they’re cultivating. I’ve tried a few ethiopian spots in the DMV area and what is memorable about this one is how flavorful the niter kibbeh is. It cuts through and compliments the other flavors going on in the dishes. The portions are also generous and they do NOT skimp on the injera. Would definitely come back and highly recommend the spicy fish dullet!

Came for dinner and got the vegetarian platter and tofu tibs- amazing!!! Our server was super friendly and explained the specials that we’d never seen before. Great atmosphere. Felt like Cheers- a place where people know each other in a good way. We will definitely be back!

Sooo insanely delicious, the vegetable mix and the Derek tibs are incredible!! The staff is so nice and really recommended good stuff. The inside is cute with lots of seating, they do get quite busy though and it can take a while but it is so worth it. The inside is very strongly smelled and hazy with incense and roasting coffee, but it is lovely.
