I thought all Brown's Chicken locations closed throughout Chicagoland since the early 2000's. To my surprise I was passing by through Skokie and saw that this location was still open!!! On my visit tonight, Edgar greeted me with enthusiasm. I informed him that Brown's Chicken was a part of our upbringing in the 1980's, 90's, etc...especially the fried mushrooms and gizzards!!! They have an 8pc dark special online for $9.99 and 1/4 pound fried mushrooms for $4.99. The chicken tasted exactly the same...crunchy and juicy! I seriously love Brown’s Chicken. The fried chicken is so good—crispy, flavorful, and always hits the spot. My go-to order is the chicken sandwich, it’s easily my favorite thing on the menu. You have to try the hush puppies too—they’re underrated and definitely a must. Everything is a really good value for the price, especially for how filling and tasty the food is. The cashier staff are super friendly and fast with the orders, which makes the experience even better. And the best part? They offer halal chicken, so it’s an easy choice for me every time. Whenever I see a Browns Chicken when driving around I try to stop in and order some wings. This Browns was good. I think the wings may have been from earlier lunch batch. I stopped in at odd time, 3:30 pm. So they weren't super fresh but still good and great crusty, flavorfull coating. Biscuit and side of slaw was also good. Price was reasonable. $11 for 4 wings, 1 side, biscuit, drink and tax. Interior was clean including windows, counters, floor chairs and tables. I think they need their drains cleaned out though based on slight smell. I'd eat there again.

Just experienced probably my worst Brown's chicken experience I've ever had....I came in today around 12pm and ordered 2 lunch specials and 1lb of gizzards only to get home and regret spending my hard earned money there. The fries were overcooked and the chicken temperature was in between warm and cold. The best part about my meal was the biscuit and gizzards. I'm very upset to have driven there and back home only to have a subpar/below average meal. Brown's chicken you have to better because you can do better. It's supposed to "taste better" right, it did not today.
