Hooked On Coffee in Whittier is a solid neighborhood find. The space is bright and welcoming, and the staff is consistently friendly and attentive. The coffee is excellent—bold, well-extracted. It has deep flavors. Their matcha is another standout; they use high-quality powder and actually put enough in the lattes so you can taste that vibrant, earthy flavor. Beyond the drinks, they have a great selection of fresh breads and baked goods, along with sandwiches and toasts that are always well-prepared. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I almost walked to the Starbucks’s down the street, when I stumbled upon this charming mom and pop coffee shop while I had a few hours to kill during some car repairs, and I’m so glad I did!
