I recently visited Hard Eight BBQ in Dallas, and it was an outstanding barbecue experience from start to finish. As soon as you arrive, you can smell the wood-fired smoke, and watching the meat being cooked over the open pit creates an authentic Texas BBQ atmosphere that makes the visit memorable before you even take your first bite. This is my FAVORITE BBQ place ANYWHERE and I've tried ALOT of BBQ restaurants!!! Love that you walk right past the pits to let the carver know what you want him to cut fresh for you. Everything they cook.... from all the smoked meats.... variety of cold salads.... potato bar.... best jalapeno corn and mac and cheese ever.... massive portions of okra....and a hot bean bar that is free with your meal. Just completely average overall unfortunately. The Brisket, Ribeye, Jalapeño Sweet Corn were all just good, the sweet potato fries were excellent. The atmosphere was a bit chaotic for us and we had no clue what to do, but any server we encountered was really nice and helpful. The Half Chicken was not good, I could not eat it, gave it to my FIL who had to eat it with beans and pickles.

met my friend for lunch and we met up at Hard 8 BBQ, located in The Colony, TX. I have only been to one before approximately 3 yrs ago located in Coppell, TX. We were there for lunch and the parking lot was full and it was hopping mad inside the restaurant. The smell bbq filled the air. This place is neat, very clean and well organized. The meats on the grill looked really awesome, but the taste was lacking. Same experience at the Coppell location.
