If you’re looking for authentic Japanese soba and udon, this is one of the closest experiences you’ll find outside of Japan. I’ve been coming here for many years. Back in the day, it was cash only, but they now accept credit cards, which makes things much more convenient. The ordering system is simple and casual. You place your order yourself, the food is brought to your table, and when you’re finished, you return your tray to the counter. First time here. Just get a simple menu, I had natto tororo because I love grated yam, natto, and poached egg, but I think their tempura was old It had a horrible smell. I'm not talking about the shrimp and veggie tempura. It's the topping tempura. And I know chefs usually make those toppings ahead of time, but I think it was old or the oil was horrible. I triec finishing everything since it was $20, but wow, that old oil taste made me almost throw up. It's still lingering in my mouth.... I didn't get a refund, but don't ever get that...

Delicious as always! One of my most favorite Japanese noodle houses in LA! We ordered the unagi udon bowl (cold) and the kakiage (shrimp + veggie tempura) udon (cold) and both were so simple yet so tasty. Hits the spot every time. Service is quick. There’s ample seating inside in two rooms. They do charge you a fee for paying with a credit card just FYI as the cash price is always cheaper. Ample free street parking around.
