I recently had dinner at The Shell Restaurant while celebrating my friend’s birthday, and it turned into a genuinely wonderful evening. The restaurant has a very large and generous outdoor seating area, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere on a beautiful Upper West Side night. After a few visits, I can really endorse this place for top quality, fresh, well prepared seafood. I’ve had the salmon and branzino, the oysters and calamari, salad, clam chowder, warm fresh bread, and vegetables. The staff is always friendly and full of advice about the menu. Ambiance is cozy and low key yet classy enough for a Saturday night out. Even their restaurant week menu is high quality and top value, in keeping with the rest of the offerings. Also have midweek paella specials! Neighborhood favorite that’s really popular for their summer outdoor cafe.
