I’ve been coming to Pizza Man Dan’s at 444 E Santa Clara St in Ventura for years, and it’s always been one of those reliable local spots I keep coming back to. These days I don’t eat much pizza anymore—doctor’s orders, lab results said I had enough cheese for a lifetime, and that’s no fun. But I stop in for the salad bar semi-regularly because it’s definitely one of my favorite salad bars in Ventura. It’s fresh, simple, and exactly what I’m looking for when I want something lighter. One of my favorite parts is the covered outdoor patio. It’s a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy the Ventura

We ordered the deep dish pizza. Half cheese and half pepperoni (Large) The crust was good but the rest was very doughy. We also ordered wings..they were ok. Overall $40 for 1 large pizza and 6 pc wings was in our opinion too pricey for what you get.

I had driven last this place a couple of times before but I stopped by to have a medium pizza with my brothers and the pizza was quite delicious. We had beef sausage and pineapple on our pizza. (I know, I know, pineapple on pizza? I didn't choose the toppings BUT it was actually pretty good!) The place was a bit small but had a comfortable atmosphere and tables large enough to host a small group. One cool thing I saw here that I hadn't seen at other pizza shops was a robot that delivers your pizza to your table. I thought that was a nice touch. Also the marketing and branding for this place

Terrible Pizza: I don’t know how you can take the recipe from a good restaurant (Rusty’s) and still mess it up. The crust is undercooked and is overall lacking in flavor. We gave it one last shot tonight and realized that we don’t want to waste our money. The quality just isn’t there. I would recommend fluid state or toppers if you’re in Ventura. Dan’s is just not good.
