I recently tried Ovenbird Cafe for the first time and I'm absolutely in love! The minute you walk in, you can tell that the whole cafe was created with intentionality- plants and warm decor, a whole shelf of local brands and trinkets, the loaded dessert case, and the calming folk tunes in the background. My only complaint is on a weekday morning, it is a bit difficult to find seating, but the good samaritans that frequent this cafe always know when it's time to give someone else a chance to sit! Today was my first time popping in and what a delightful surprise to find this little cafe. The variety of pastries and baked goods all looked beautiful, but I opted for their "breakfast slider" and house blend drip coffee. The space was on the smaller side but not claustrophobic - very cheery and bright with seating all along the windows plus a handful of tables. Great cafe with plenty of room and seating. The seating and bar lines the window with street view for some nice smiles and possible sun depending on weather. The meal was filling and much different from any cafe I've been to. Never have I seen sweet potato hash before. I was also very surprised with the delicious taste and kick of the meal. We are looking forward to trying other options on their unique menu. The lobby and bathroom are exceptionally clean.
