Although part of a global chain, Caffè Nero did a nice job of capturing the distinct history of this Wellesley Hills station designed by architect H.H. Richardson. The building was completed in 1886, and after the station was decommissioned the space was various retail outlets until Nero took over in 2016. And the food and drink? Relative to other bakeries and coffee shops in Wellesley (there are a lot!) the coffee is good, and the baked goods are workmanlike. Caffè Nero is hands-down the best café in town. It’s the perfect spot whether you’re getting work done, meeting up with friends or clients, or simply enjoying a great cup of coffee/tea.
