Stopped by after dancing hula with my hula sistas. I've heard of Ross J's and glad I finally got to taste the food. I was told that they are the same owners as the Islander restaurant in The Cal 2nd Floor. The price point here is so much cheaper than others and the food is ono. I ordered the Menehune Roast Pork and Fried Noodles while my friends enjoyed their dishes. The roast pork was delicious. The Menehune plate is similar to a mini plate but to be honest, it wasn't really small. The meat was plentiful but the rice and mac salad is a smaller scoop from the regular plate. The fried noodles

30min wait for food order…Just ordered a Reg. Garlic chicken… got a Garlic chicken w/brown gravy?!?…mkay… looks more like pork chops and gravy… went back in to send it back w/refund then was told to wait in line? 🤦‍♂️ disappointing hard pass 👎🏽 on this Menu & “Restaurant”.

We had not been to Ross J's for almost 15 years and was happy to see nothing had changed. Great locals place with Hawaiian comfort food and daily specials. My favorite was always their twice fried mochiko chicken which they did not have the day I dined. They have delicious poke on Fridays, so go early to grab some as they run out! Plates are beyond generous in size, heaping mounds of rice macaroni salad, I had teriyaki chicken and katsu chicken with a side of spam musubi. Happy to see a familiar employee still there, even though she did not remember us...well it's been 15 years so I can't comp
