Historical landmark restaurant in Wilson, NC. After living in the area for over 23 years and driving past this place daily. I decided to finally give Dicks Hotdog Stand a try. My first impression is that this place holds a lot of nostalgia for a lot of residents as its interior is a bit dated (not a bad thing), and memorabilia lines the walls. Many photos I wish I would’ve had more time to dissect. It’s a timestamp of American culture for sure and I think that’s the appeal that’s kept this business running for so long. I couldn’t wait to finally get my hands on Dick’s wiener. My wife rolled her eyes, but I told her I had high hopes for Dick’s and man… he delivered. A little pricey, sure, but once Dick’s wiener hit my mouth, I forgot all about the cost. It was warm, loaded, and absolutely satisfying. The fries didn’t do much for me personally, but my wife couldn’t get enough. She was a huge fan of Dick’s wiener too. She didn’t hold back either. Went all the way with it and enjoyed every bite.
