Based on the other positive reviews, I gave this restaurant two chances to see if my negative experience was an isolated incident. I tried it once more today and sadly this will be my last time. Unfortunately, the food is not fresh. It is previously frozen and reheated which not only makes it taste bad, it is concerning with regards to food safety. 1) Bolani - I ordered six of these potato filled flatbread to go and my husband and I agreed it was inedible--we are not picky eaters. We really enjoyed the dumplings, rice, and spinach, those were our favorites. The lamb didn’t have much flavor, and the eggplant came out extremely fast on a very hot plate, so we weren’t sure if it had been cooked fresh.

I have had good Afghan food in Dubai, London, Boston, NYC, and DC. This is possibly the tastiest Afghan food I have eaten, and the owner-operator is a warm and friendly gentleman. Tastes like lovingly prepared home cooking. Even though we are from across the river in Potomac, we will be back for sure!
