Had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Sirius inside the East Star Hotel. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt upscale yet welcoming, and the service was flawless the entire evening — attentive without being overbearing and genuinely warm. I started with the miso soup with salmon, which was far from ordinary. It came with fresh cilantro and a vibrant spicy red sauce on the side that elevated every bite and added a bold, fresh kick. I paired it with the Aviation cocktail, and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve had — perfectly balanced, smooth, and beautifully presented. For the entrée, I ordered the grilled dorado fish, and it completely stole the show. The menu labeled it as spicy, though I personally found it more rich and savory than hot, which I actually preferred. The fish was cooked flawlessly — tender, flaky, and packed with flavor. It’s located at the rooftop/3rd floor of the East Star Hotel. The restaurant has retractable roofs so don’t worry if it’s raining. The food here was tasty. Every meat was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like most restaurants in the city. The portion of the salads is quite big. The service was good. Although with limited English skills, but still much better than other places in Uzbekistan, they were extremely helpful and did their best to make sure we have everything that we needed. Just use simple words and not full sentences as they might not understand your accent. 15% service fee is already included in the bill so you don’t hv to give extra tip. Unless you want to.

They had a DJ/karaoke for dinner and my table was right in front of the speaker, so it was way too loud. It’s just a single speaker for the entire restaurant so it blasts the table right in front of it. The waiter also confirmed that I could order a single glass of lemonade (their menu only shows it as 1.5L) and then he brought out a 1.5L pitcher and told me it turns out they can’t just serve a glass and it was already made so I couldn’t change to a different drink. It was their mistake so they should have not charged me for a drink I could only drink 1/3 of. The food was decent though.

We enjoyed Sirius from the moment the lovely lady in the hotel lobby escorted us to our table on the rooftop terrace. The waiters spoke passable English and were happy to explain the menu. Sirius is the first restaurant in Central Asia that delivered our medium-rare tenderloin cooked less than very well done; it was medium but still the best of the rest. The food was excellent. A real highlight was the strolling alto sax player who is quite good.
