You absolutely have to try egg coffee when you're in Vietnam! I specifically sought out a popular spot for it. Ambiance: The place is decent, with a few floors – make sure to enter through the small alley. Taste: I was worried the egg coffee might taste fishy, so I ordered it hot. To my surprise, the texture was incredibly smooth and velvety – I couldn't taste the egg at all! It was more like creamy milk foam blended with coffee oils. Give it a stir before drinking – it's a bit sweet and the flavor is really rich. About halfway through, you start to pick up the pleasant bitterness and aroma of the coffee. It's genuinely delicious – though the cup is quite small. Highly recommended!

Loved the seating! I think it fairly lives up to its popularity. I had egg coffee in Saigon and then I had it here. I found it less sweet than the one I had in Saigon so a big thumbs up for that because lesser the sweet lesser it feels saturating so you can actually drink something else also after it. My husband had ordered yogurt coffee which both of us agree that we did not like at all. Perhaps our palette is different hence deducting only one star for that. Otherwise fast service, decent ambiance. Better to have a quick coffee and scoot. Not recommended for a chat over coffee.

This place is known as the birthplace of egg coffee since 1946, and you can really taste the history in every sip. Went here on a Monday noon with our “Free Private Hanoi Tour” guides (highly recommend). We got the egg salted coffee, egg cocoa and lemonade. We really enjoyed it and out of the three egg coffees so far that we’ve had here in Hanoi, it was the best one, not so bitter and not so sweet. The place is so cute and quiet and the waitress even offered to take our photos. It’s the first egg coffee in Vietnam and has been established since 1946.

We ordered egg coffee with almond and the other is with oreo. Drinks are not too sweet. Love it! Place upstairs near the front sliding door is the coldest in the area since it's near the AC. place is well ventilated, a lot of fans. Chairs are low so might be quitw difficult for tall people, but the height is very advantageous for a 5'1" like me 😅
