We waited 40 minutes after placing our order only to be told that the kitchen could not fulfil one of the main meals. There was no warning about extended wait times and in total we waited over an hour for food. To be clear the young front of house staff were working incredibly hard running nonstop clearly exhausted and doing their best in a very poorly managed situation. The problem was lack of management and poor communication from the kitchen. After a walk along Port Melbourne foreshore, Mr Hobson is a nice lunch stop. The view is amazing across the waterfront. A simple menu, prices are very reasonable for the pier location. Our dishes were good. Ordering from the counter with friendly staff, pleasant lunch.
