I had a disappointing experience at Degani Cafe Tarneit. I ordered a chicken, avocado and cheese toastie and specifically asked the staff member whether it was freshly made or pre-made. I was told that it would be made fresh, so I placed the order. When I received the toastie and checked it, I found that the avocado underneath the chicken was black and appeared rotten rather than fresh. This was very concerning, especially after being assured that the food was freshly prepared. Food quality and freshness are basic expectations at any cafe, particularly one with a good reputation. Have always had a nice meal here, usually brunch. A few weeks ago I had a chicken and avocado lunch, it was delicious and huge. A delicious mix of salads, with grilled chicken and avocado, topped with balsamic dressing. I will def be going back for another and have told a few friends too.

Went out for new year lunch at this Cafe. Ordered Chicken parmi and peri-peri pizza. Disappointed with the food quality. I generally do not leave food reviews but am doing this one as the pizza was completely unacceptable. I asked the man on the counter if they prepare the base or buy it from the supermarkets. His reply was not very convincing but no they do not prepare the base. Honestly this is the worst pizza I ever had. Worse than the Coles frozen. The parmi was not great either but I will let it pass. Staff and environment was good.

Had the corn fritters (add bacon), the meal size is generous and the mix of flavours was great. Coffee was perfect temperature and great tasting. Table service is a definite plus and the manager and staff are calm and attentive. Lost a star on atmosphere due to location, this cafe would be perfect in a nice street, not a shopping centre. Will go back again.
