Conference trip in Brussels and skipped the gala dinner this time… wasn’t really in social mode. Turned out that was a pretty decent decision. Ended up at Gazzetta instead. Tiny Italian place, small menu, and honestly… I appreciated the lack of a 14-page existential crisis 😄 Went for the swordfish and mackerel pasta; really good. Great flavours, nice wine pairing too (although the wine glasses seem to come with their own mortgage plan). Solo dining gets underrated sometimes. Good food, good wine, no small talk. Empty plate says enough.

Gazzetta is such a cute and welcoming place, perfect for a chill date night. The owners are incredibly pleasant, they take the time to greet you warmly and explain the menu, which really makes the experience feel personal. The dinner menu has limited options, but in the best way, everything feels thoughtful and well-curated. We tried the pasta of the day (similar to Norma) and the carne alla griglia. The pasta was gluten-free and cooked separately for safety, which is very considerate. It was excellent, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. The grilled meat was juicy, well-salted, and tender.
