We’ve been coming to this Halibut House location for over a decade now. The breakfast used to be around $3.99, but with the cost of living and prices going up after COVID, the increase is understandable. Even now, it’s still a really affordable and filling breakfast spot. It also looks like they renovated the restaurant, which made it feel more updated overall. I believe it’s family run too. Dined in on Wednesday and they had a Cod special for $14.99. I really like their coleslaw. There’s a bit of horseradish. Wish there was more tartar sauce. Wasn’t a big fan of their fries and asked if I could substitute with onion rings and pay an increase. Was directed to buy the Cod fish with onion rings for 20$ on their regular menu. I just stuck with the special instead. Don’t expect any kind of accommodations or swaps. Came with mother last time who doesn’t eat a lot but was told kids meal for kids. Fair enough. They serve quickly and the batter isn’t greasy.

On a recent lunch date with dear friends, we visited Halibut House in Markham. We had their Wednesday Special - Cod & Chips, with Coleslaw. It was a good sized portion, and a good deal for only $14.99. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a light batter. A generous portion of fries, and a vinegar based coleslaw were included to complete a delicious meal. Stopped by Halibut House Fish & Chips and had an awesome experience! I ordered their famous halibut with poutine and coleslaw, and everything was spot on. The fish was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and paired perfectly with their tangy tartar sauce. honestly, one of the best I’ve had. The poutine was loaded and satisfying, and the coleslaw added a nice fresh crunch to the plate. Portions were huge, so definitely come hungry! I had a refreshing Fuze tea and some crisp, ice-cold water on the side, which hit the spot. Service was super fast, and the place was not busy at all, with lots
