Schweine Janes was a highlight in Düsseldorf. It’s a bit of a hole-in-the-wall spot, but it really delivers on the food. I had the roasted pork leg, and my friend went with a sausage. While I appreciated the different textures of the pork, I actually enjoyed the sausage more, the ketchup and curry sauce were on another level and complemented it perfectly. I do wish the place was better maintained, especially the downstairs bathrooms. Other than that, it’s a solid option.

My last visit should be in 2013, i forgot which one i had & walked for an hour around the area to try to get some memories. My sister whom later arrived showed us photo of the old boss, and yay! We are at the same restaurant that we missed so much. Malaysians that missed greatest pork knuckle in Dusseldorf (myself would rate it as the best in Germany). I’m not sure who is the current boss but all staffs are so warm & friendly! We had 4 meals in 6 days. 🤭

The pork knuckle here was honestly incredible. Incredibly juicy, packed with flavour, and the crackling on top was perfectly crisp — that proper crunch you hope for but rarely get just right. It’s one of those dishes you’re still thinking about weeks later. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely somewhere Id come back to just for that pork knuckle alone!

This will always be my favorite spot for German food in Düsseldorf. Even though the portion size has gotten a lot smaller over the years but it’s still very good quality!
