It is one of the favourites of my parents. I think this café is really well suited for a quiet afternoon. it is calm, well-lit, airy, friendly and open. My parents used to eat cake or have tea occasionally there (obviously before corona happened). It is a nice place to have good coffee.

At this point: a huge thank you to the team at Annelies Cafe – I simply love it; it's warm, cozy, and my mother and I feel completely at ease. The food is fantastic, and the staff are just so friendly and welcoming. People of all ages feel safe and well cared for there. It's a little oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life :))) Christmas and Easter are always firmly on our itinerary – and the times in between – well, we have to make the trip from Essen to Hattingen regularly. Annelie's Café is somewhat hidden away in Hattingen's town center, but it's a small, charming café with a surprisingly large selection of cakes and pastries, all freshly baked daily. The staff is friendly, competent, and efficient. The clientele is predominantly senior citizens, but the quality of the coffee and cakes is absolutely recommendable. According to the menu, they also offer great breakfast options, which I will definitely try soon.
