I lived in Spain for 10 years, always telling people I meet about how much I love the coffee there, until I came to Cologne and found Hommage Café. Blew my mind. Never had a coffee like it. Amazing taste and texture. They take serious pride in their work. Brazilian and Indian beans made by people who really care about their coffee. Such a warm environment. A beautiful café. Hommage Café in Cologne was a solid breakfast spot before heading out of the city. Service was quick and friendly, which is always appreciated when you’re on a tighter schedule. I had a flat white and avocado toast with egg, while my friend went for the avocado galette with egg and an americano. The coffee was a solid 4/5, good body and well made, though I was missing that bright acidity I usually look for. Still, an enjoyable cup overall. Food-wise, both dishes landed at a 4/5 as well.
