Riphahn opens its tables and chairs out into the old church square of Pastor-Köln-Platz, a beautiful tranquil oasis. The staff are super-nice. And when I asked, they were happy to swap the meat in my baguette for cheese... My brie baguette was like a dream! They should put it on the menu!

I can’t recommend this place for non-German speakers. When we first arrived, we weren’t welcomed or guided through the process, but were left on our own to figure out how things worked. After waiting, we eventually received some service, but it was tinged with unfriendly sarcasm. Only after placing our orders (Spending money) did we start getting somewhat proper service. There is also no English menu, which led us to order a few wrong dishes. On the bright side, the quiche Lorraine had a pleasant texture and tasted good.

I'm not sure about food. We only had drinks. And they were fine. It's definitely different than other places in cologne, which I meant positive. Nice chef and staff. Freidnly and caring. Away from random shopping maniacs. More local and steady customers. So it has kind of family feeling.
