Halfway Coffee was such a great early‑morning find, especially since so many cafés don’t open until after 8. The neighborhood has a vibe I love, and this café fits right into it. It’s popular with digital creators, and the aesthetic is definitely Instagram‑ready. The outdoor seating area is charming, and with a museum next door and Antique Street right outside, the whole setting feels curated and atmospheric. My latte was excellent, and the staff were attentive. If the weather allows, choose an outdoor seat—the people‑watching is unbeatable.

This cafe is tucked inside a cute little alleyway, but the place was still packed with people when we visited. Even with the crowd, the staff stayed friendly and worked pretty fast. The coffee was the real highlight here. Both the cappuccino and latte were rich, smooth, and really well made. You can tell they care about the coffee quality. Overall, a cozy and charming café with great drinks. Definitely a spot we’d come back to again when in Hong Kong.

The matcha latte is NOT GOOD. Quite bland without much matcha taste. I'm a matcha latte lover, and tried quite many matcha from different stores in HK and in Japan. This definitely does not worth $60. The environment is fine, but the seats are rather cramped. Seems like it's pretty famous among foreign visitors and locals, maybe for the aesthetics or retro vibe. The cups are deco do have their uniqueness, but personally think it's not really worth the hype. Perhaps their coffee drinks are much better, but I don't drink coffee.

cute little coffee shop tucked in the cat alley. the interior design gives off industrial vibes in a good, aesthetic way. the menu is not extensive, some coffee, drinks and special drinks. a couple savory and a couple sweet food i didn’t try because it’s not vegan. got a flat white with oat milk. the coffee was delicious and it’s served in a vintage ceramic cup, very beautiful and cute touch. most importantly, i was greeted with a smile which is weird to see in hong kong so it made me very happy and i was able to enjoy my coffee comfortably. not very loud, perfect for some journaling

This place is a true hidden gem in Hong Kong! Tucked away in the incredibly atmospheric Sheung Wan neighborhood, it’s just a short stroll from Man Mo Temple. The vibe is so relaxed and friendly. I had the matcha latte, and it was hands-down the best I’ve had in my life. The matcha flavor was so rich, and the hint of dark chocolate made it absolutely divine. While the food menu is curated (only two options), the salmon and avocado eggs were delicious and fresh. The service is top-notch; the team is so polite and welcoming. I’m so happy I found this spot, I’ll definitely be back.💚

Halfway Coffee is a quintessential Hong Kong "East-meets-West" experience. It has carved out a cult following primarily for its aesthetic: serving expertly crafted specialty coffee in vintage Chinese porcelain cups and "Longevity" bowls, often found in antique markets. The Locations & Vibe They have several branches, but the most iconic are tucked away in the antique-filled alleys of Sheung Wan (Upper Lascar Row) and a moodier, neon-accented spot in Mong Kok. Aesthetic: Think distressed concrete walls, retro folding stools, and heaps of nostalgia. It’s "Chinatown chic" at its finest. Atmosphere: Casual and community-focused. The Sheung Wan locations are perfect for people-watching among the antique stalls, while the Mong Kok branch feels a bit more hidden and "urban cool." What to Order The Signatures: The Rose Latte is their most famous drink—delicate, floral, and naturally flavored without being cloyingly sweet. For something unique, the Longan Honey Latte offers a beautifully

I absolutely love the atmosphere here. Every corner feels stylish and full of taste. The staff are warm, energetic, and genuinely welcoming. In a fast-paced city like Hong Kong, it’s rare to find a place where you can slow down, enjoy a great coffee, and simply watch the world go by. Highly recommended.

Halfway Coffee came through when it counted. We landed jet-lagged and in need of something to bridge the gap between arrival and functionality — the matcha latte, which was intense and very well made, handled that job without question. The jasmine tea was equally good; the kind that reminds you why tea deserves as much attention as coffee. What made the visit linger in the memory beyond the drinks was the setting. The porcelain was beautiful — a small but considered detail that elevates the experience. The open-to-the-street seating turned out to be the ideal perch for watching Sheung Wan go about its day, which in itself is worth the stop. A great café that earns its place in a city that takes its drinks seriously.
