I recently visited Chaknawala after seeing its good ratings. At first glance, the front side of the restaurant wasn't very impressive—the kitchen is visible from the entrance, and the staircase to the upper floor is right beside it. However, the interior ambiance was quite nice, and the staff were polite and attentive. I ordered the Roasted Grill Chicken, Fish Fry, and Chicken Biryani. The Roasted Grill Chicken was delicious, and the Fish Fry was excellent. Both dishes were beautifully presented and served nicely. Unfortunately, the Chicken Biryani was disappointing. I personally didn't enjoy the taste, and the presentation also wasn't appealing. It was served on a single plate with the biryani, salad, and chutney together, which I didn't like at all. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Chaknawala twice now, and its definitely a place I look forward to going back to again. The overall experience has been consistently good, with a lively vibe and a very welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer and come back often. We tried a variety of dishes including Lehsuni Kebab, Punjabi Kebab, Fish Fry, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Masala, Garlic Naan, and Mixed Chilli Garlic Noodles. Most of the items were flavorful and well-prepared, especially the kebabs really stood out. The only dish that didn’t quite match our taste was the noodles, which turned out to be extremely spicy for our preference. However, what truly impressed us was the service. A special mention to Mr. Shantanu, who was extremely attentive and courteous throughout our visit. When we shared our concern about the spice level, he handled it very professionally and even offered us a complimentary drink as a kind gesture. That level of customer care really made a difference

The restaurant has a cozy vibe, and the staff (special shoutout to our steward, Vishal) was attentive and polite. ​The Food Breakdown: ​Lasuni Kebab : This was the star of the meal. The garlic punch was perfect without being overpowering, and the chicken was tender. For the price, the portion size was quite generous. ​Chicken Biryani & Chicken Masala : Both were very reasonably priced. The Biryani had that classic Kolkata aroma, and the "Half" portion of Chicken Masala was just right for pairing with bread. ​Garlic Naan : Freshly made and buttery—ideal for wiping up the gravy from the Chicken Masala. ​Vibe: Vibrant and clean; good for a casual meal with friends or family. ​Final Verdict: Definitely one of the better spots in Sodepur for Kebabs and North Indian food. A pretty cheap place serving good food in a good ambience although service was slow. The place is always packed and is a really good spot for any time of the day. We had mixed shawarma roll, chicken biryani and butter peri peri fries. Quality and quantity for the food was decent. They also have rooftop where you can smoke as well. I would definitely visit again to try the kebabs and shawarma. Highly recommend to visit here.

⭐1 star only 😑😑 I visited this restaurant recently. The Chicken biryani was not good, and the naan and chicken kasha were just average. The atmosphere was fine, though the place is quite small. The staff were polite and well-behaved, no doubt about that. The food is pocket-friendly, but the taste and quality need a lot of improvement. 👉 Please cook the food well and maintain good quality. Hope to see better taste and improvement next time. Good effort, but still room for growth. Overall, not a very satisfying experience.
