For years, this was one of the best coffee spots in Tel Aviv. The coffee is still excellent, and the cakes remain outstanding. That is what makes the decline so frustrating. Basic hygiene and service have broken down. On our last five visits, not once was the table cleaned before we sat down. Not once. At premium prices, this is unacceptable. A clean table is the minimum standard, not an extra. Even a simple glass of water often arrives only when we are about to leave. The atmosphere has also changed. A man who appears to be the owner of the next door Asian restaurant regularly sits there smoking, with the smoke blowing directly into customers, while talking loudly on the phone. The café owner often joins him, and complaints about the smoking are dismissed rather than addressed. The staff used to be excellent, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, including the owner. In recent months, it seems they are gone, leaving mostly the owner, who is still polite and smiling, but the overall
