2nd time eating here. Once in November 2025, and now June 2026. It's a small restaurant as one would imagine restaurants from some years ago would be like. Maybe a trattoria style. Food is excellent and typical of the region. Not what you might find in a tourist center such as Matera. Service is top notch. We were able to score a table outside which was a bonus. It was a perfect choice for our first night back in this enchanting city.

A delicious meal tucked away in a quiet alley. The service was attentive, and every dish was truly excellent. The pasta was to die for especially the baccalà, which struck the perfect balance of modernity and generosity. The burrata starter with peperoni cruschi and smoked cheese sauce was original and full of flavour. The only disappointment was the cantucci ricotta dessert, with a cream a bit too liquid and sweet. Everything else was outstanding, and we even met the chef, whose passion for his craft is unmistakable.

Excellent service, on a small lateral street or in the interior, with nice staff and the simple, but tasty Italian food as we want when we are in Italy, paired with a local red beer and a café lecesse.
