“Such a nice vibe! Definitely recommend a belly dancer night. They have live music, the dance performance is super interactive, a lot of people get up and dance. The food is nothing super impressive but the great vibe and delicious drinks pays for it all!”

Olga May★★★★Visited in March 2026. Located on a trendy and popular street, we sat on the veranda with panoramic windows. Interior is stylish with charming graffiti inside, giving the impression of a restaurant with a long history. FOOD: Lebanese cuisine with some seafood options. We tried crispy eggplants — soft, almost purée-like inside, with a crunchy breaded exterior, topped with pomegranate sauce. Very tasty, though slightly greasy. Shrimps in butter were small and felt slightly boiled with a chewy texture — not our favorite. Meat kebab was juicy and tender inside, enhanced by bits of fresh herbs. Fries were undercooked and lacked a satisfying crisp. SERVICE: Service was pleasant and efficient, though the bill took a bit longer than expected. Overall, we were satisfied. VERDICT: A good spot for local cuisine with beautiful design. The restaurant has a long-standing tradition and offers a nice atmosphere for an enjoyable dinner with company.
Elie Aramouny★★★★★Dar Beirut — formerly Ahwet El Ezez — remains one of Gemmayzeh’s most authentic Lebanese dining addresses, holding on to its soul while refining the experience. This is Lebanese cuisine done properly and without shortcuts: generous mezze, classic recipes, and flavors that feel rooted in tradition rather than reinvented for effect. Every dish is prepared and served the old-school way, with care, balance, and respect for what Lebanese food truly is…comforting, honest, and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere is just as important as the food. Oud nights bring a warm, nostalgic rhythm to the space, while the belly dancer adds a lively, celebratory energy that lifts the entire evening without ever feeling forced or touristy. It’s vibrant, joyful, and unmistakably Beirut. Service is impeccable: attentive, welcoming, and professional, striking that rare balance between efficiency and genuine hospitality. Dar Beirut isn’t trying to be trendy, and that’s exactly its strength. It’s a place that
Machteld Jurriaans★★★★★After six weeks in Beirut, I finally went to this restaurant and had the best goodbye dinner I could’ve ever imagined. I was helped by the kindest waiter. Because I am traveling alone and was dining alone, he chatted with me and we had a lovely conversation about the balance between exercise (weight lifting and running), enjoying food and being injured (coincidentally we happened to have the same injury: herniated disk). The staff made me feel so welcome and advised me on which items t get from the menu. I advise everyone to come here and enjoy a nice Lebanese dinner 🤍✨
Rima ASM★★★★★Very nice and authentic Lebanese place. The food was delicious and served in generous portions. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We were especially impressed that they took the effort to modify and reprepare the dishes for a celiac guest. Very good and friendly service overall — highly recommended👍🏼
