Really great discovery in Utrecht. Food was really good. Service was perfect. Location, fantastic. We booked our table like a month in advance and it’s true that, even though we asked them to place us on a table next to the canal, when we arrived, they said they don’t do that because those tables are given on a first come first served basis. So they suggested us to go inside and wait but we were so lucky a waiter from outside came and said a table was already available outside. Being outside is so nice if the weather allows it. The outdoor seating here is beautiful, located right by the canal. Service was perfectly fine, nothing exceptional but attentive enough. Portions are generous, and prices are quite reasonable. The menu focuses on German food and beer. We started with a sharing platter of cheese and ham. Unfortunately, that was a bit disappointing; there was too much bread and not enough variety in the other items. Overall, though, it’s a good spot for a casual meal, especially if you enjoy hearty German dishes in a lovely waterside setting.
