November 2022 — This review is admittedly based on a visit several years ago, prior to the major renovation. However, it captures the establishment's former identity and can provide valuable context for repeat customers. The space has drastically changed, evolving from a small, cozy bar with limited seating and a cramped DJ booth to a much wider venue featuring VIP sections and standing tables. During our dinner, the venue seemed confused about its direction. The fine dining interior and expensive menu suggested a high-end restaurant experience, but the immediate presence of a loud DJ setting a club atmosphere created a strange tension. The ambiance felt not in tune for a first-class dining setting, which was disappointing given the beautiful initial interior design. Went here at around 8:30 after dinner. Entrance fee is P350. Place was still empty but the dj’s already playing some songs. We sat by the bar since every table requires a minimum spend (5k i think?). Tried their blue lagoon and screw driver. They have 8% service charge btw. Love their bathroom, clean and has nice interior. People started to arrive at around 10pm and the place was packed by midnight.

199x is one of the best bars in Davao, and it was a blast! The DJ played killer tunes, the food was delicious, and the place is spacious and comfy. We got a 5000 consumable deal for a couch that easily accommodated our group of eight. The staff was super attentive, and the strong air conditioning kept us cool all night. Plus, the clean restroom with a bidet was a nice touch. The only downside is that the food and drinks are a bit pricey. We lucked out and went during a no-entrance-fee time, but I heard it's usually 200 pesos with a free drink – not a bad deal. Looking for a place to get a good drink? Then you might consider visiting 199X in Davao City. We walked in in the bar on weekdays, the bar was still busy and had many customers. It was good to see a place that plays good music and can dance too. We tried their food which is the Calamaris and Butter Chicken. Calamaris is good together with the dipping sauce but the buttered chicken is a bit disappointing as they charged around 490php is not mistaken for a chicken that is for 3-4pp as described in the menu but the actual is just 6pcs of chicken plus 2pcs out of 6pcs are good meaty chicken the rest are all bones. like the ribs and neck. We ordered cocktails from the bar which were very good drinks they recommended the Strawberry Cocktails and I had a Margarita. We had a couple of orders and we enjoyed our drinks but not the food.
