While vacationing in Évora, we stopped in for dinner on a Thursday evening, drawn in by the rustic, laid‑back decor that suggested an authentic Alentejo experience. A glass of wine set a pleasant tone, and the menu featured regional classics. I ordered the Secretos do Porco Preto—grilled black pig pork—served with white rice and potato chips. Rice and chips together felt like an unusual pairing, but apparently it’s standard. My husband chose the fried pork with clams and potatoes, Portugal’s take on surf‑and‑turf. Came here on recommendation from the hotel. We were the only people in the restaurant, which maybe should have tipped us off. Very clean place, nicely decorated, server was nice and attentive but spoke no English (which is ok with us, but just as reference). But, unfortunately the food was not good at all. Neither of us ate more than a few bites. Both meals were soaked in oil and her Codfish Medievel style really didn't taste good at all. Maybe it was an off night, but we can't possibly recommend the food. It was one of the worst meals I've had including MREs.

Everything by was just ok; nothing to write home about. We asked for Super bock beer and we were served a totally different beer. Finally the server brought us a beer in a glass that was for Super Bock but we thought she just poured the other beat in those glasses! Overall a mediocre restaurant. Would not recommend it!

As someone who has has good carne de porco alentejana this place served the potato's half cooked, it was still a bit raw I side and there were like 5 small mussels with the dish, I would not recommend eating "carne de porco alentejana " here
