Chefe Branco was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the service was warm, friendly, and very welcoming. It felt like having a kind Portuguese neighbor cooking for you. The food was delicious. I especially loved the tomato rice — it was sweet, tangy, flavorful, and not greasy at all. Nice restaurant in an off-the-beaten track area. It feels like a place locals go to. We sat outside on the street, and it was fine. The service was good, but I was made feel a bit uncomfortable when we ordered a half bottle of wine for two. I noticed comments about the "couvert" and in all fairness, we weren't charged for what we didn't eat. We had very tasty croquetes to start and the monkfish cataplana we shared was out of this world, with massive juicy prawns and so many shrimps and other shellfish. I would recommend. *note, there were 2 croquetes, I forgot to take the pic at the start!

Even so, the waiter kindly managed to find a small two seat table for us, which gave the impression that the place is popular and well loved. We ordered the seafood rice for two people.
