Different Taste Café is a restaurant serving traditional Chinese dishes with really a different taste 😂 (better tasting) than other Chinese restaurants. Their food is served very fresh, hot and tastes great. I enjoyed the steamed fish. Best I had in a long time. Vegetable Kang Kong and honey pork is fantastic too. Our waiter is very fast and professional. Price is reasonable. This is the kind of restaurant many people travel to Malaysia for. It is truly a gem in the East Coast Area Singapore. Easily 5 stars. Highly recommended.

Reliving the nostalgia of my childhood. Used to visit with my mom and late grandpa at DTE old bowling place second level. Can't find any photos of the old place. The curry fish head and kang kong still taste the same as what I rmb when I was young. Salad prawn is good, my son love it. Lemon chicken not overly sour, my daughter say it's her favorite. Black pepper beef not my liking as I dont really like black pepper but ordered it for my partner.

2026.1.4 (Sun) Different Taste is an established eatery in the east. I have been here many times but it’s rarely my first port of call. The standard is similar to many Tze char stall and it’s a tad pricier bec of the aircon. The taste is acceptable but you are really paying for AC and ambience. Our crispy seafood noodles and Penang Fried Kway Teow (both signature dishes) are above average. The prawns are very fresh! We enjoyed a quick and quiet dinner here. No GST here! ✌️

Walked past this nondescript restaurant several times and decided to give it a try. We were wowed by how tasty the fish head curry, hae zhou are prepared. Old school, honest authentic flavours without the bells and whistles. Really a hidden gem that deserves a lot more customers, besides those from Frankel precinct. Will be back to try the other nyonya dishes. Highly recommended.
