There more to this place than meets the eye - literally - there is a large dining room at the back. It was a quiet Wednesday evening when I visited so atmosphere somewhat subdued, menu is not extensive but has an ample selection of meat, fish and salads. All options well presented and tasty, toasted bread with aioli brought to table. Service was efficient and friendly. Chupito - including local drinks - came with the bill and a kind of brandy snap biscuit. Recommended.

Sometimes you get to a town as lunch is ending and you have limited choices. That was the case in Cuenca today. But we got lucky! Marlo is a simple place with good food and great service. And we got to try two things we’ve never eaten before. First was morteruelo. A local dish that is made of different types of game and pork with a healthy dose of cinnamon and other seasoning. It’s like a soupy pulled pork and goes great with bread. The solomillo was good as was the tomato salad. For dessert we were gifted a tarjita (?). Extraordinary restaurant, excellent food quality, original recipes, the lamb and the deserts were awesome. Very attentive staff, we booked the round table in as separate space for 7 people and had a great time!
