I have had a LOT of patatas bravas in my travels, but these are still my absolute favourite. After 8 years of coming here they are still consistently perfect! Don’t make the mistake of going to the tourist trap bravas place that is opposite Bar El Rocio, because these ones are eleventy million times better. Thank me later :) Also a special mention to the calamares which are always chunky and tender, and never stringy or chewy. If you’re a calamari fan, don’t skip these

A Hidden Gem in Madrid – Bar El Rocío We absolutely fell in love with Bar El Rocío during our stay in Madrid. The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and made to order. We tried a variety of dishes—mussels in spicy sauce (with the option to adjust the spice level), fried squid, anchovy fries, and garlic shrimp—and every single plate was a delight. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into the cooking. The service was excellent—friendly, welcoming, and very helpful, even for English speakers. We felt comfortable and well taken care of every time we visit

This was how good their mussels were :). I got 2 of them and finished all! I did spicy level 30 in the beginning but it was a bit spicy for me, so I did 5 for the second order. It was so good. I love that they don’t douse it in olive oil, it lets you taste the freshness of the seafood. Definitely a hidden gem.
