If you are strolling down Carrer de la Unió expecting a quiet, romantic evening of delicate Mallorcan tapas, keep walking. Tast Unión is an absolute Palma institution, but it has all the tranquility of an active trading floor. Online reviews constantly rave about the "authentic local atmosphere," but what they conveniently leave out is the elbows-out aggression required to actually secure a spot. The front room is a loud, chaotic, Basque-style pintxo free-for-all. We stumbled upon this place during our walk and managed to get a seat at the bar. We had a lovely dinner here with lots of different tasty dishes. Sangria was delicious. The staff was friendly, professional and quick with service.

Nice place for a decent meal or a simple snack like tapas. Great that I found that herbal Mallorcan brandy... it seems they don't pour this much as tourist seems to go with the "usual stuff". The dry, the mix and the sweet option is what you should check, adding more value to taste buds while enjoying interesting food. I would suggest arriving a bit earlier than 1300 hrs just to make sure you find your place to sit as after 1300 gets much more busy!

Went in mid Jan for evening meal and it was hard to get a table. Tapas is not basic it’s elevated and creative. Wine list had some great reds. Modern and stylish inside, fun that the kitchen is open plan. Service was good, the stylish lady with cropped hair, thank you for your patience, you’re lovely. This meal was my most expensive on my Mallorca holiday but worth it. 80€ for two including a good bottle of wine.
