We booked a birthday lunch for a group of 28 people and had a really lovely experience. The team were incredibly helpful, kind, and accommodating from start to finish, which made organising such a large group feel easy and relaxed. The food arrived hot and tasty, and impressively, most of us were served together. Service ran very smoothly throughout. The only small downside was that our area was a bit cold, which the staff apologise for. Overall, a welcoming pub with great service and well cooked food. We’d happily return, especially for another group booking.

Basic bar skills have left the building. Decided to grab a drink at the Admiral Cunningham Hotel bar, but apparently, chilled wine and proper glassware are a luxury here. The white wine was served warm, and the gin arrived in a basic juice glass with exactly one lonely ice cube. It takes remarkably little effort to get the basics right, but clearly, that was asking too much. Absolute joke of a service. Apart from that, the atmosphere was good, PLEASE, improve the staff training.

Not sure why people give this place a bad review. I found the staff nice the pub garden is massive the rooms are the rooms, simple and cheap. Definitely booking next year

Excellent food, albeit a bit slow in arriving - and our 2 drinks took the best part of half an hour to be arrive, but I return to my first point - the food was EXCELLENT!! Big portion roast pork, LOADS of meat & stuffing & enough potatoes & vegetables to make me too full for pudding (a rare occurrence!). Very accommodating of our little whippet too. All in all a very pleasant Sunday lunch - we will DEFINITELY be back before we move away.
