I grew up in Broadstairs over 50 years ago and the Tartar Frigate became my local. During a recent visit with my daughter I decided to book a table at the restaurant. I was delighted that the pub and restaurant seem better than ever. Booking online was easy and we received a warm, friendly welcome. Our waitress, Lemini, was charming and helpful and seated us at a lovely table overlooking the harbour. There is a cosy, traditional ambience in the restaurant and service is attentive but unhurried. We visited this lovely seaside restaurant located on the first floor, with stunning beach views right outside the window. I highly recommend going around sunset for the most perfect scenery. Even during the heatwave in the UK summer, the air conditioning was excellent, making it very comfortable to dine indoors. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the hot seafood platter, lobster pasta, and pork belly – all of them were amazing. Highly recommended!
