Batch baby absolutely lives up to the hype. One of the main attractions of my boyfriend was the proximity of his flat to this coffee shop. Their coffee is always excellent. The seasonal drinks are chefs kiss. And whoever does the naming of the sandwich specials deserves a huge bonus because they never fail to make my day. During the week this is one of my favourite places to work in London. There’s nice shared tables and strong WiFi. On the weekend, their food offering is fantastic, and despite the hordes of people the staff remain unflappable and delightful. EDIT: Salt beef toastie for Ir

I had a batch brew made with Ethiopian beans. They had two options for the special batch brew. One from Colombia and one from Ethiopia. The staff explained the differences between the two beans really well. She was very helpful. The price was reasonable compared to other specialty cafes. The coffee was heavier than I expected, but it was nice. They also have a wide range of beans from different roasteries. I’d like to try an espresso-based coffee next time 😊.

I’ve been to Batch Baby a few times now, and overall it’s a place I usually enjoy. The coffee is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is genuinely lovely—relaxed, comfortable, and with plenty of space to sit without feeling cramped. However, there were a couple of issues during my most recent visit. The water served alongside the coffee tasted quite unusual, almost as if it were tap water with a strange aftertaste—possibly even reminiscent of washing-up liquid, which was off-putting.
