After seeing such good reviews we thought we would try here on a visit to Cleethorpes. It was lunchtime, so the restaurant was, as expected, quite busy. Tables were cleared fast and we were shown to a table very quickly. Order was taken in a timely manner and food served soon after. Opted for Haddock and chips, fish cake and chips. Would have checked menu first as our preference is cod. Haddock was hot and light batter. I would have preferred an extra minute or two cooking, as it was on the watery side. Couldn’t fault the portion side though. Drink plus bread/butter also served with the meal.

Fantastic service, which cannot be easy as there were 16 of us including 6 small children. We were catered for swiftly and accurately, nothing was too much trouble. As for the food, as a group we've been coming since it opened it's doors and the fish and chips have always been delicious, the batter is light and crispy and it is skin on fish. I love skin on fish, some don't but it falls away so easy to push to one side. The portion sizes are plentiful.

A lovely warm welcome from the staff, chose to sit in the upstairs restaurant. Two smaller-size meat pie, chips & mushy peas, with an extra gravy boat, with a plate of bread & butter and drinks included for £22.50. Amazing value for the amount of food, and a spectacular home-cooked meat pie with fabulous meaty gravy. Cannot rate Steels highly enough!
