We're from the United States staying in Dover to catch our Cruise. We were lucky to find this place on a Friday night with out a reservation. Very surprised they had room. Found it to be a very nice experience. Good food and atmosphere.

Fantastic fish and chips, the batter was crispy with no soggy bits and with tartare sauce that’s clearly been homemade based on the quantity of dill. Great food, good beer, and the live music on Friday understood the audience which is such a refreshing change. Excellent evening. Thank you very much!

I loved the low ceilings, exposed brickwork, and the stairs leading down to the bar. It had real potential, but the atmosphere felt a bit off and not very inviting. The space could be transformed with brighter touches like those in the outside garden, a lit fireplace (even a fake one), or ceiling murals. Drinks were fairly standard, service was minimal, and unfortunately the toilets really let it down. the stall door didn’t close properly and the sink wasn’t very clean. Convenient location near the high street, but overall a pub with potential let down by easily fixable issues.

I give it five stars. Defiantly a locals pub. We got strange looks when we went in and after a couple of pints a really good food we started to have conversations with local. We had a great time a lots of laughs. Definitely recommend. And would love to go back.
