Popped in on a cold rainy Sunday evening in early January and I can’t complain. No snobbery on my part as I knew it was a dreaded Wetherspoon but let’s be adventurous and experiment. Lovely building and safe friendly surroundings, a varied and unusual cross section of society as fellow spooners on that night with a very good and reasonably priced selection of food and drinks. Ordered a pint of Wainwrights Gold, I don’t know why, I must have panicked but it did go down well with my meal of high level gastronomy at £8.46 for Wiltshire cured ham, egg and chips. Had a very nice breakfast in The Counting House, early on so quite quiet. Breakfast arrived promptly, food was good, service was excellent. So, absolutely no complaints.

Absolutely vile food that really matches it's price point sadly. Very poor service too from the waiters who approach you in the weirdest way to take your plates and cups when finished (eventually, it did take them about 45 mins to take them away despite bringing more drinks). This place used to be a lot better sadly just lacks any kind of passion most likely due to underpaid and underappreciated staff. Booths were filthy with skin flakes on the seats in the corners 🥴 Glasses were filthy. Coffee tasted like it was filtered through someone's dirty sock. I ate 1 bite of my food and couldn't fini
