Was brought here for my birthday dinner and absolutely loved it. Each course was unique and delicious - favourite was the cacio e pepe arancini but none of them would I want to skip. Service was also 11/10 - so friendly and each dish was delivered with a big smile and detailed explanation of the dish. Would love to come back again soon! Will definitely be one of my best eats this year😋

This restaurant is a different type to others in Durham, as you don't choose the dishes, but follow a set taster menu for that period of time, a few weeks. You can choose wether to add 8th course or not, or alcohol options. Portions are quite small, but because of the numbers you won't walk away hungry. And if you choose an option to acompany each dish by wine you won't walk out sober neither. Although we checked and all of us were walking in a straight line also in excellent spirits! Had an appointment in Durham, so an excellent opportunity to try Coarse. Shame I don’t live nearer! First day of the new menu rotation. I had the main menu with extra course plus the wine pairing. Excellent all round. Cracking value for money. My favourites were the Monkfish dish and the Rhubarb, pistachio and white chocolate pudding. Hope to come back again soon.

Excellent new tasting menu this week. Superb flavours and presentation again. Had the optional fish course too, which is always worth it. And as it's the April Easter menu, the Coarse Cream Egg was a highlight, with cream cheese custard and passionfruit gel centre. Many thanks to the whole team for a fabulous experience!
