I spent a day in Eastbourne last Thursday. My friend and I ordered two coffees and two almond croissants. All tasted lovely but the two croissants were served on one plate for two people? I went politely to the counter and asked if I could get another plate please and was treated with a hostile reaction, followed by a two minute wait and then a plate slammed down in front of me. How rude, spoiled a nice occasion.

Afternoon snacks and drinks with the family and dog. Prompt service and a nice atmosphere. The whole place didn't smell of strong coffee, which is a plus for us. Nice to support a good independent cafe. Good chai selection, which you don't see everywhere.

Coffee Republic is our favourite refuelling station when we're in Eastbourne Town centre. Quick service from the friendly staff, and many savoury and sweet options to suit all. With the recent refurbishment, the coffee shop is even better than it was before, and it was perfectly fine then! Definitely worth stopping off!
