There are several locations of this restaurant in Edinburgh. It has a huge menu with plenty of options. We went there for lunch and the food was delicious. All potential allergens are clearly listed on the menu, so you can easily see what options are available. You can also ask the staff, who were very helpful. Finding a combination of gluten-free and vegan options wasn’t easy, but when we asked, they prepared something special just for us. Absolutely fantastic! Very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

I had high expectations from Loudons based on reviews seen from other people. Good welcome, not too long in the queue, they were busy even on a Sunday. Despite me not having any reservation, they managed to find me a table. Really nice of them. The service was quick from sitting down, to order to bringing the food and drinks. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Tried the chicken oyakodon, it was ok. I'm Asian/Brit who grew up with Japanese food so this was nowhere near a proper oyakodon. It was nice though. I then decided to order the Banana Walnut cake for dessert,

A large breakfast place with lots of seating. I went in the morning when they just opened, so it was quiet. The Scottish breakfast was very filling and tasty, and although adding a scone made it a bit too much, everything was good overall.

The place is really nice, nothing fancy, but it looks good and feels comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our food came pretty quickly. The food itself was amazing and super tasty, and the prices are very reasonable. If you were thinking of going to The Spence but found it a bit too pricey, this is an excellent alternative, just without the fancy atmosphere.
