Let's start with some positives, because it's a lovely evening and I'm in that kind of mood. Place is beautiful, staff are super friendly and place is very clean and obviously a lot of care is taken into keeping it that way. Now the not so good bit. The food, in general was very average. Which was disappointing, considering the price of everything was well above normal gastro pubs. We’ve recently moved to Esher and have already visited this pub a few times and honestly, everything has been outstanding. We were especially happy to see Hawkstone Lager available here ,such a great touch! The food is absolutely amazing, really delicious and clearly made with care. The fish and chips is a standout, and we also tried the Sunday roast it was genuinely excellent and one of the best we’ve had. This pub has quickly become our first choice in the area. Food here was fantastic, the staff were super friendly, helpful and attentive. We came here on a whim as we were passing with some friends and it was easy for both of us. I’m so glad we did, we had a late lunch but this didn’t affect the standard of the lunch. I went for something I usually don’t, but being so close to Christmas I wanted something on the healthy side so I went for the plaice and it was full of flavour and nice and delicate. This was our first time. Even though we pass by daily we had never been here. My wife ordered short ribs, I ordered calve liver and my son ordered the burger. All of us really like the food! It is now our go to Pub/restaurant. Service was great and quick. Our waitress helped us with the menu and the food selection. She was very nice and pleasant to talk to. The atmosphere was nice. We sat inside, it was nicely decorated in a welcoming manner. You could also sit outside which were nice. It was also nice to be able to park at the back side of the pub. Overall it was a very good experience.
