Wow. When my wife wanted to try Gurkha. My initial thought was it is like any other Indian cuisines. Conclusion: it is the herbs that bring to another dimension. My family of five really enjoy the dinner.

Fundamentally, the Timur curry with lamb I tried was a very unusual flavour. It's was very nice actually. Slightly naturally sweet like a korma but brown and no added sugar like many Kormas are faked. But. A curry. That has large pieces of lamb that are over cooked or under cooked however you want to take it. Was plain wrong. The meat was hard. I could never serve a curry with hard meat. I would cook it slowly for a long time or hard until meat was tender. Very very poor. The mushroom rice was nice. The Ghurka beer a must try. Very smooth. Staff were polite. Used to be the best, but new management and new chef have not done this place any favours. Here’s the ‘creamy chicken tikka’ (£12). Rice now seems to be microwave rice.
