As Hemel Hempstead locals, our go-to spot for dosa used to be Watford. We decided to give Grand Cholas a try, though we were initially a bit unsure if it would suit our tastes. I'm so glad we walked in, because that uncertainty disappeared the second we were served. Everything we ordered was stunningly fresh, with the Masala Dosa providing the perfect grand finale to a great meal. Our server, Jeevith, truly went above and beyond. He was welcoming, highly professional, and took the time to explain the menu to ensure everything was perfect for us. His dedication and excellent customer service

We’ve visited several times and it’s consistently excellent. The service is warm and attentive, and the manager is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I was easily able to avoid both gluten and dairy, which was really appreciated. This visit we chose South Indian dishes, including the masala dosa shown here — perfectly crisp, generously sized, and incredibly authentic. It honestly compares with the very best dosas I’ve had in London. Overall, a fantastic experience and easily the best Indian restaurant I’ve experienced in St Albans.
