Lovely independent small coffee shop which I visited during my short visit in Hitchin. The place was very busy when I came on Sunday afternoon but I got the place. Cofee was very good. I also ordered chicken sandwiches and it was fresh and tasty.

Fussey & Baer is absolutely hands down the best coffee shop in Hitchin. Jenny and her lovely team are always so welcoming, and the customer service is never less than exceptional. Coffee is consistently gorgeous, served so quickly, and the fully loaded banana bread (which has been a weekly staple in my diet for the last two years.. oops) is incredible. Toasties and sandwich options are also soooo bloody good if you're popping in for a lunch, and there's always such a strong selection of cakes, pastries and sweet treats on the counter! This is a super little place with great atmosphere. You can see as soon as you step in this place is made homely... Simple, clean, yet welcoming. They have a great selection of cakes and desserts. Great food, the grilled sandwich is prob the best I've had yet! And they do amazing coffee!!! Excellent place for kids and families.. Very impressed with service. They know exactly what you want and how you want it... Which means they have experience!! Once again.. For coffee lovers... You must try them out!!! Defo coming back

The coffee here is consistently delicious, and the food is genuinely great. Easily one of the better spots locally. That said, takeaway orders often take upwards of 10 minutes, even when it’s fairly quiet, so it’s not ideal if you’re in a rush. What really let it down for me, though, was how customer feedback is handled. I’ve seen the owner respond to reviews online in a dismissive and unprofessional way, including swearing and publicly brushing off a fair and honest critique. It’s disappointing to see. Constructive feedback should be taken seriously, not met with that kind of response.
