Wow … what a great night at The Sportsman, Hyde. Thanks to our host, Belen Romero, for welcoming 16 members of our group and providing a fabulous selection of her renowned tapas dishes for us to sample. We were treated to 11 courses (some suitable for vegans), with ice cream to finish, for those who still had room. After a starter of bruschetta, we were served potato topped with cheese, potato bravas and spicy meatballs (which are very spicy). Can’t go to watch Hyde United ⚽️ without calling in here before or after. All the cask ales are brewed locally in Haslingden. A classic traditional old style pub - well worth a visit.

I was gigging with my band, Hector's House and had to get my equipment into the venue...it was a struggle upstairs but you come to expect that! The pub was a proper pub, great decor and super tiled floors. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the landlady was lovely and the food was ace! Look forward to sampling the food fully when I go for a meal there! Our gig was great, the crowd joined in with a good ol sing a long too! 👌

A great pub with amazing food, Cuban, English, homemade pizzas, fabulous Sunday lunches. The real ales are exceptional, try the floral dance, my particular favourite, the staff there are so friendly. Look out for regular events there, always fun and a great time had by all. Highly recommended
