A fantastic proper pub, a gem of a place where in a city centre the punters still play darts. A nest of rooms await the visitor, small but comfortable and plenty of atmosphere. A good selection of Yorkshire cask ales and other keg beers. Food is available but we didnt eat this time. At the bottom they have a cosy events room for entertainment and the smallest stage I have ever seen adds to the charm. A nice beer garden on the lower side is another great sutprise. Welcoming, clean and full of atmosphere.

Bloody good pub, selling a large selection of very good real ales. Victorian interior clean and well kept. Visited as it was on my parents marriage cert as my dad's address In the late 1950s, he lodged here. Live music. External seating. Highly recommend.

A bit off the beaten track, just outside the city centre, this pub deserves all the praise it gets, great cask ales. Traditional, immaculately kept boozer. Live music venue. Definitely worth a visit. 👍

We stayed one night at the Clayton hotel nearby thanks for our flight being cancelled due to snow at Leeds Bradford airport, and we found this lovely pub while on our way from the bus. It's a very large pub with lots of rooms, beautifully decorated and, most important thing, provides an awful batch of hand pulled casked ales (around 8 if I remember correctly, actual list is displayed on the chalk board next to the bar). They seem to have live events on a daily basis but not that night due to the snow. The staff is friendly, it made our unexpected night in Leeds very relaxing 🙏
